In the digital age, paper making offers a way to connect to a sense of place in the physical world. In this workshop, you will learn about paper making trends you may have seen online, methods for preparing paper fibers from plant matter, and how to use a mold and deckle to throw individual sheets of paper. You get to take home the mold and deckle, a knowledge of pulp processing, and your favorite pieces of paper from your throwing practice to finish drying at home. Finished paper is beautiful on its own but is also great for paints, ink, and printing as well as some light use with charcoal and pastels.
